Ok, you've been to church for a while....Now What?

Well, according to God's Word, you must first receive Jesus Christ as Savior.

Becoming a believer is as simple as praying a prayer..... you're not joining the church... you don't have to give any money... you don't have to be perfect - all you have to be is you.

Follow the ABC's.

A - first you must ADMIT that you are not perfect. That's pretty easy considering that none of us are and none of us ever will be. But you must admit it before God.

B - Then you must BELIEVE.(Believe In What?) The Death, Burial and Ressurection of Jesus Christ.

C - You must CONFESS with your mouth and heart that Jesus is the only one that can help you to avoid an eternity seperated from God. (John 14:6)

You can pray a simple prayer like this: "Dear Heavenly Father, I admit that I am not perfect, and I believe that you came to this earth to show us the way, and die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins. Three days later you were resurrected to prove that you are Lord of Lords. I ask you now to come into my life and to be my Lord and Savior. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen."

In choosing to follow Jesus you’ve now entered into the most amazing relationship you’ll ever experience- a relationship with the Divine- a relationship with the God Who not only purposefully created you but Who loves you passionately and wants to give you a life that matters!  He wants you to walk through everyday with Him and to experience both His presence and His activity on your behalf.  His desire is for you to grow closer and deeper with Him.  He wants to lead your life (He authored life- He knows how it works best)- to guide you in truth so that you won’t be duped into making choices that are deceptive and destructive.  His love for you is real. And, just as in any relationship, in order for it to grow and develop you’ve got to spend time together.  That’s how it is with your new relationship with Jesus.  He wants you to spend meaningful time together each day so that you’ll be able to experience first-hand what following Him is all about.

Next is Believer's Baptism

The Bible clearly teaches that after people have entrusted their lives to Jesus Christ by inviting Him into their hearts and lives they are saved. These "believers" are then immediately instructed to be baptized by immersion (The Biblical form of Baptism). Going through the waters of baptism, after understanding why Jesus died for our sins, is then a public display of how we are now dead to the bondage of the sin nature, and like Jesus, were raised up in the newness of life or "born again". Bible baptism has always been  reserved as an act of obedience for those who are old enough to "believe". Because Jesus instructed us to do so as a church ministry, Cornerstone baptizes as a public witness those in our ministry who are believers, having received Him as Lord and Savior.

Next is becoming a Member of a Local Church

Membership at Cornerstone is available to all who attend regularly, and have entrusted their heart and life to Jesus Christ. As "believers" we are trusting Him as our forgiver and leader. Cornerstone is a church that welcomes your attendance, but feels responsible for your attachment. We are simply, "People Following Jesus", who are wanting to help you do the same. As as a member of Cornerstone, we are all equals. We have equal access to programs, equal opportunity to serve, equal responsibility to financial giving, and an equal burden to help others become "believers" and glorify God. If you are in interested  in Membership at Cornerstone, Please help us follow up with you by giving us a call at (585) 747-1151. We'd love to speak with you!
